November 28, 1874

£1-10s, to John SULLIVAN fireman, for diving into the Clarence Dock and rescuing an old man who had fallen in.

April 16, 1875

PC Edward CREIGHTON, for going into the canal near North Shore Mills, after midnight and saving a woman who had tried to commit suicide.

May 12,1875

15s to PC. Charles SHORE who jumped into the canal near, midnight and saved a woman who attempted to drown herself whilst under the influence of drink

July 30,1876

Silver medal to PC44 Isaac SABEAN, for gallantly plunging into the river and saving a boy. He was much encumbered by his uniform and was helped by another man when nearing the stage.

September 29, 1876

£1-7s to PC 711, Albert HOLDING, for having jumped into the canal near Chisenhale St, with his uniform on and rescued a woman who had attempted to commit suicide. The constable could not swim and his watch was damaged.

February 9, 1877

£1 to James LLOYD, fireman for jumping into the Huskisson Branch Dock, a depth of 17ft and rescuing a man who had fell out of a boat.

May 23,1877

£1 to PC William JONES, for his promptitude in climbing up the outside of a house on fire in James St and awakening three women who were rescued.
 
September 27,1877

£1 to PC 106? James PARKINSON, for promptly jumping into the canal near Sandhills Bridge and rescuing a woman who had slipped and fallen in while about to go aboard a flat with a Sunday school party.

November 30, 1878

£1 to PC 129 Orris HARCOURT, for having lowered himself into the Salthouse Dock and saving a man who had fallen overboard while attempting to board a flat. HARCOURT was also awarded 5s for repairs of a watch.

June 6,1878

Silver medal to River PC10, William PEGLER for having gallantly jumped into the river to save a child who had fallen overboard from HMS Assistance, alongside the Prince’s Stage. Also a silver bar for having jumped from the Prince’s Stage into the river on the 9th June and rescued a man who had fallen overboard and in great danger as he could not swim. This is the 3rd award for PEGLER.

Silver medal to River PC11 John ELLIOTT, who jumped from the Prince’s Stage into the river and rescued the master of a tug who had fallen overboard.

A silver clasp and 20s to River PC10, William PEGLER for having gallantly jumped into the Canning Basin and assisted to rescue a man who had attempted to commit suicide. [this is his 3rd rescue]

October 20, 1879

20s to John KAY Fireman, for having jumped into the river at the Tranmere Slip and rescued a boy who had fallen from a plank and nearly drowned.
