Police_launch_'Argos'_1910 - click to enlarge

The above photograph shows the police launch "Argos" in 1910 with Constable John Learmont (left) and three colleagues aboard. When the entire strength of the River Police was absorbed into Liverpool City Police in 1920, Learmont moved to 'A' Division before retiring as a Chief Superintendent in 1938.
